Petaluma-based HydroPoint’s WeatherTRAK smart controllers have been approved for the California Green Builder program. The program aims to help California save at least 20,000 gallons of water per year in new homes by motivating builders and buyers to select sustainable landscape designs, plants with lower water needs and water-saving appliances.
WeatherTRAK-enabled smart controllers were selected based on their track record of successes in 20 public agency studies - more than all studies of other smart controllers combined. WeatherTRAK-enabled controllers have been shown to maximize water savings and urban runoff reduction. WeatherTRAK irrigates based on daily local weather conditions and a host of landscape-specific characteristics, such as soil type, plant material and gradient.
