The database of smart controllers tested for water efficiency is growing. Product test reports on three additional controllers have been posted to the Smart Water Application Technologies section of the IA website.
Test data is now available for product from ETWater, Toro, Irritrol and WeatherTRAK. Product tests are conducted by the Center for Irrigation Technology on behalf of SWAT, a consortium of water purveyors and the irrigation industry to test and promote efficient irrigation technology.
To view the reports, go to www.irrigation.org, or scroll over the Government Affairs tab, then Industry Initiatives and SWAT.
The SWAT program is featured this month in an article in the Journal of the American Water Works Association. The article details the history and goals of SWAT, which began with a meeting between water providers and irrigation industry leaders at the International Irrigation Show in 2002.
