NWP Services Corp. To Provide WeatherTRAK Irrigation Management to the Multi-Housing Industry
MARCH 30, 2006 - Irvine, Calif. - NWP Services Corp. (NWP), a provider of resident billing services, and HydroPoint Data Systems have announced a strategic agreement in which NWP will sell, install and support HydroPoint's WeatherTRAK technology to property owners in the multi-housing industry.
This agreement presents a new opportunity for customers of NWP to significantly reduce water costs, water-related structural damage, erosion, mold and plant replacement. By adopting this technology the multi-housing industry can also significantly contribute to water conservation by reducing its water usage by billions of gallons each year.
On-site WeatherTRAK "smart" irrigation controllers receive a wireless transmission each day, delivering watering instructions for varied plant and landscape types based on daily changes in localized weather conditions.
NWP can analyze their customers' utility cost and consumption data to identify apartment communities where irrigation savings opportunities are greatest, providing those customers with property-specific cost and ROI projections. NWP can then provide WeatherTRAK equipment to its customers as well as manage the installation of and field support related to the use of WeatherTRAK controllers.
"Millions of dollars are lost each year to inefficient and ineffective management of irrigation," said Chris Spain, president and CEO of HydroPoint. "We are pleased to align ourselves with NWP in helping the multi-housing industry turn a costly problem into a positive ROI story."
