Web-based WeatherTRAK irrigation solution gets enhancements

HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc. announced enhancements to its Web-based WeatherTRAK solution that accelerate smart water management from any location via the Internet. The enhanced Web-based, password-protected application from HydroPoint provides the tools to monitor, manage and program the WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers remotely. As a result, anyone using the WeatherTRAK solution in single or multiple locations can more easily and cost-effectively employ water conservation practices.

With the enhanced WeatherTRAK Web-based application, users can respond to field conditions instantly and apply water based on real-time feedback. Using the WeatherTRAK solution via the Internet also reduces costs associated with landscape irrigation, including fewer truck rolls and site visits.

Ideal for those responsible for managing or specifying multi-site irrigation projects such as landscape maintenance contractors, irrigation consultants, facility managers and property managers, the Web-based WeatherTRAK application can manage single and multiple controllers for one or more accounts. Landscape maintenance contractors and property managers, in particular, who visit multiple sites across a wide geographic region, now have the flexibility of managing these sites from any location with Internet access.

HydroPoint's WeatherTRAK solution is the only offering that enables Web-based, remote capabilities with instant alerts and historical reporting within user-defined date ranges, says a release from the company.

Traditional central control systems have a dedicated location for their management software, and only a few individuals can access information. With the WeatherTRAK solution's secure Web application, multiple individuals can view the account, but only manage sites allowed by the organization.

Key features of the Web-based application include:
  • Programming – The application enables remote and faster programming with the ability to view all water controller functions on a single Web page
  • Managing – Users enjoy faster troubleshooting and problem resolution with the ability to view and make any controller changes in real-time
  • Monitoring – Users can save more water and improve landscapes by adjusting or making changes as they occur
"Customers need to respond immediately to field conditions to ensure maximum water conservation and reduce costs," said Chris Spain, chief strategy officer for HydroPoint. "By enabling users to view and respond to field changes from anywhere, HydroPoint enables customers to reduce water usage and the associated costs of multiple site visits. Therefore, water conservation with the WeatherTRAK solution becomes easier and even more cost effective."

These smart irrigation controllers eliminate water waste through the adjustment of water output based on plant needs and local weather. The WeatherTRAK solution's automation boosts the productivity of landscape maintenance teams as workers no longer need to adjust irrigation systems manually.

The company claims it can provide localized daily weather data with accuracy down to a square kilometer. This data is sent to adjust the WeatherTRAK controller's scientifically calculated run time based on actual site and environmental conditions. With the industry's first true central Internet management software, HydroPoint enables remote programming, monitoring and management of one or more WeatherTRAK controllers. HydroPoint's products are the most independently tested and validated water management solutions in the industry.
