HYDROPOINT OFFERS WEATHERTRAK TRAINING PROGRAM TO HELP WASHINGTON STATE BEAT THE DROUGHT |
Petaluma, Calif., April 5, 2005 - HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc. today announced a new program to help minimize water usage during drought conditions in Washington State. State officials recently announced that Washington has reached emergency drought conditions, and they are imploring state residents to protect limited water resources by using every drop of water wisely. In response, HydroPoint is offering free professional training for Washington landscape and irrigation contractors to install its WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers. WeatherTRAK controllers are proven to reduce water use by up to 59 percent and runoff by as much as 71 percent.
Outdoor landscape watering typically represents at least half of total household water consumption. Contractors can dramatically reduce this consumption while actually improving plant health by using WeatherTRAK to automate efficient watering, based on plants’ needs and changing local weather. Leaders in the green industry and public sector recommend the installation of WeatherTRAK smart irrigation controllers, proven in more than eighteen public agency studies to conserve water and reduce runoff while they protect plant health.
“Landscapes are typically overwatered, leading to high water bills, runoff and wasted water. But the drought forces us to use water much more efficiently,” said Anna Thurston, Water Conservation Specialist, Tacoma Water, Resource Planning Section. “We encourage customers to install smart controllers to help us manage our limited water supplies.”
WeatherTRAK makes conserving water a simple, win-win-win proposition for landscapers, their customers and Washington public agencies, who benefit from healthier gardens, lower water bills and sustainable water supplies. By automating efficient water use, WeatherTRAK also guards against the landscape restrictions that have cost the green industry thousands of jobs and deprived homeowners of beautiful gardens in other states.
“WeatherTRAK is a painless drought solution for Washington. Our customers tell us that water bills are lower and gardens look better with WeatherTRAK,” said Candy Doherty, Outside Sales, United Pipe and Supply, a Northwest-based distributor of WeatherTRAK.
Contractors interested in attending a free WeatherTRAK training session should contact Sharon Connelly of HydroPoint Sales at 800.362.8774, 121 or sconnelly@hydropoint.com.
