IRRIGATION ASSOCIATION ATTENDEES LEARN HOW TO MAXIMIZE SALES AND WATER EFFICIENCY WITH PROVEN WEATHER-BASED IRRIGATION

Irrigation Association Conference, Phoenix, AZ, November 4, 2005 – HydroPoint Data Systems, Inc., the leading provider of weather-based irrigation management systems, today announced that Tom Ash, Director of Conservation Alliances, and Rick Malkin, Senior Product Manager, will present at the 26th Annual Irrigation Association (IA) conference, Nov. 6-8, 2005, at the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.

Tom Ash will review public agency studies involving smart irrigation management systems in his presentation, “How to Design, Implement and Evaluate a Smart Controller System” on Sunday, Nov. 6. Mr. Ash, a practicing horticulturist and former water agency conservation coordinator, will highlight several independent public agency studies that confirm the ability of select evapotranspiration (ET) controllers to achieve water savings of up to 59%. These controllers, which dynamically adjust irrigation based on daily, local weather and landscape-specific characteristics, have also demonstrated their ability to optimize plant health and virtually eliminate runoff. After examining lessons learned by water providers and green industry professionals, participants will come away with a practical blueprint for successfully building their businesses by installing proven smart controller systems.

Rick Malkin, an Irrigation Association-authorized supervising regional instructor, has led numerous courses, including “Advanced Irrigation Design”, “Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting” and “Controller Repair”, at IA conferences over the past nine years. At this year’s event, Mr. Malkin will co-present a series of courses including “Smart Technologies in Irrigation Management” and “Advanced Irrigation Design for Water Conservation”. A complete conference course schedule, along with registration and travel information, is available on the IA Web site at www.irrigation.org.
